Attendance at ISA Sign Expo 2018 in Orlando Topped 20,300

The ISA International Sign Expo is the largest expo for the on-premise sign, graphics and visual communication industry. Held each spring in either Las Vegas or Orlando, the event features hundreds of exhibitors and dozens of education and networking events.

The ISA International Sign Expo 2018 in Orlando in March attracted more than 20,387 attendees, making it the largest ISA Sign Expo in Orlando and one of the largest in ISA Sign Expo history.

At 221,000 square feet, the trade show floor was the largest footprint in ISA International Sign Expo history. Nearly 600 exhibitors were in attendance, many offering tremendous specials and introducing new products.

“Significant weather issues throughout the country affected air travel, but attendees found a way to get here anyway,” said Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO. “And they came in a mood to buy. Exhibitors reported that sales were outstanding. This reinforces that ISA International Sign Expo is the only industry event connecting sign and print companies with vendors who can help them capitalize on the expansions in the sign, graphics and visual communications industry.”

Throughout the event, attendees learned more about products, innovations and ideas to help them expand and grow their businesses.

More than 54 products nominated for ISA Sign Expo 2018 Innovation Awards. The top three award-winning innovations were: the Mimaki UCJV300-160 UV-LED integrated printer/cutter; Cirrus Sight digital analytics software for digital signage; and the INCISEON Skeletonized 12v replacement for high-voltage glass-tube neon signs.

The Mimaki UCJV300-160 UV-LED integrated printer/cutter is designed to print labels, decals, window clings, and vehicle markings all on one unit. The 64-inch printer uses flexible UV-curable inks, including a white ink.

Its four-layer printing capabilities makes it possible to create transitional graphics that change colors depending on whether the image is frontlit or backlit.

Cirrus Sight digital analytics reporting software allows marketing teams to track and optimize the effectiveness of campaigns on digital displays. Next-gen features such as car counting and facial recognition open new opportunities for measuring success, conducting A/B tests, and attracting new customers.

INCISEON Skeletonized is a 12v direct replacement for high-voltage glass tube neon systems. Offering a 92% reduction in energy consumption, the system is extremely cost-effective. It was used to create a brightly lit logo at the ISA Rocks party for Expo attendees.

Networking Opportunities

The ISA (International Sign Association) excels in organizing game-changing educational sessions and networking events.

At the International Sign Expo 2018 the Networking Reception for National and Custom Sign Companies enabled local sign companies to connect with national companies that need subcontractors.

The Experiential Design Program (XDP) enabled sign fabricators and sign material suppliers to interact with designers, architects, and brand marketers engaged in experiential design.

At the co-located National Sign Research and Education Conference conducted by The Sign Research Foundation, ISA members facilitated dialog with architects, urban planners, code officials, business owners, and designers who share an interest in designing more navigable cities.
