Durst is presenting the latest addition to its Tau 330 Series of single-pass UV inkjet label presses at Labelexpo 2017, September 24-28 in Brussels. The Tau 330 RSC features a 13-inch (330 mm) print width and 8 color stations (CMYK+W+OVG).
With newly designed high-pigment inks, the press delivers flexo-like print quality with close to 98 percent coverage of the Pantone color gamut. The press can run at speeds of up to 78 linear meters/minute (245 ft./min.) at 1200 x 1200 dpi print resolutions.
The Tau 330 RSC works as a stand-alone printer, as a printing system in combination with the inline laser finishing system LFS 330, or as a hybrid solution with the addition of conventional finishing options in the OMET XFlex-X6 series.
At Labelexpo, Durst is demonstrating the Tao 330 inline with OMET’s Xflex X6 series.
The OMET Xflex X6 accommodates a range of conventional printing and finishing options, including flexo stations for priming and/or varnishing, an unwinder and rewinder with motorized roll lifter, web cleaner and corona treatment, rotary die cutting, slitting, varnishing, cold foil, and lamination. The inline priming, material flexibility, and sophisticated decoration applications make the Tau 330 in-line with OMET Xflex X6 ideal for a cost-effective “all-in-one” printing process.
At Labelexpo, Durst is also demonstrating its new Web2Print solution for online design, preview, and ordering of all kinds of packaging products, such as labels, folding cartons, and more.
Also on display is Durst’s Workflow Application Suite. This modular, expandable press software facilitates functions such as order entry, prepress, RIP, color management, ink costing, and production data management.
Helmuth Muher, segment manager, Durst Label & Package Printing, said, “We are very excited to demonstrate our broad range of digital printing and workflow solutions to Labelexpo visitors, and we are sure that the new Tau 330 RSC will be the highlight of our booth.” He believes its printing speed and quality will “create a high level of interest among label converters that are looking for an industrial scale digital press solution.”
The Label Makers in the UK will be its first beta site customer for the Tau 330 RSC Label Press.
