Excelitas Expands Phoseon Nexus ONE UV-LED Curing Platform for Flexography

Advances in UV-LED curing have helped improve the energy efficiency of curing the durable inks and coatings used in many analog and digital printing processes.

For the flexographic printing process (used for mass-produced labels, shrink sleeves, and flexible packages), Excelitas Technologies® Corp. has expanded its Phoseon® Nexus ONE™ UV LED curing platform.

UV LED curing technology for flexographic printing provides faster throughput with higher yield through tighter process control. The low heat output of the LED curing allows print-service-providers to use thinner and more heat-sensitive materials and eliminates the need for chill rollers on the printers.

New Products

The new Nexus ONE water-cooled products are available in five new sizes: 300mm, 375mm, 450mm, 525mm and 600mm. These new water-cooled systems deliver 38% more energy with 90 Watts per 25mm LED array segment.

The new Nexus ONE water-cooled systems complement the existing Nexus ONE air-cooled products, which are available in the same range of sizes. Nexus-Connect real-time monitoring capability is now available with Nexus ONE products.

Compared to other products, Nexus ONE UV LED curing systems deliver the highest total UV power output to achieve increased print speeds, increased press uptime and double the lifetime.

Nexus ONE is the first UV LED curing system available with a five-year warranty for the entire system.

Excelitas will display the innovative Phoseon Nexus ONE platform for flexographic printing atLabelexpo Americas September 10–12, 2024 in Rosemont, IL.
