Over the past two years, HP has revamped its line-up of HP Latex large-format printers. The refinements enable print-service providers to start with lower-cost, lighter-duty HP Latex printers. As their business grows, they can upgrade to faster, wider, more efficient industrial-duty printers that are designed to last years without being replaced.
At Sign Expo 2025, HP launched the 64-in. HP Latex R530 “all-in-one” flatbed/roll-to-roll printer and the 64 in. roll-to-roll HP Latex 730 and HP Latex 830 Printer Series. These printers make it possible for sign and graphics shops with limited floor space to use environmentally friendly HP Latex printing technology to produce a mix of routine and higher-value specialty prints on rolls or sheets of flexible materials,
At Printing United Expo 2025, HP expanded its line-up of FS-series of upgradeable 126-in. industrial latex inkjet printers with the HP Latex FS70 W printer for faster turnaround of higher-value prints for signs, displays, and decor.
HP also introduced upgrade kits for the FS50 and FS60 HP Latex printer models introduced in 2024 and new functionality for the HP Print OS Production Hub.
HP Latex FS70 W Printer
With the launch of the FS70 W printer and continuing improvements in workflow, HP reaffirmed its commitment to mid- to large-size print service providers who are under pressure to optimize margins, improve efficiency and expand into higher-value applications.

“These customers face high production costs, fragmented workflows, and limited scalability, requiring a platform that consistently delivers color-accurate quality at speed while withstanding heavy production peaks.” said Daniel Martinez. senior vice president and division president, HP Large Format Printing. “The HP Latex FS70 W Printer and HP Latex Productivity Kit have been designed to meet these needs.”
About 30% faster than the HP Latex FS50 and FS60 3.2-meter printers for popular applications, the HP Latex FS70 W printer delivers vibrant color at 1,259 sq ft/hr. outdoors and 980 sq ft/hr. indoors, with a max speed up to 1,744 sq ft/hr.
The HP Latex FS70 W printer is HP’s fastest, most productive HP Latex printer to date. It has been engineered for high-volume efficiency and reliable unattended printing of exhibition and event graphics, exterior signs, posters, banners, point-of-sale displays, vehicle wraps, wallpaper, textiles, soft signage and other applications.
The FS70 W printer can be upgraded and enhanced with new technologies as a user’s print volumes increase, and print markets continue to shift.
The HP Latex FS70 W printer uses 10-liter cartridges of cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow, and black inks, two channels of HP Latex Optimizer for optimal adhesion to various media.
The 6-liter cartridge of white ink on the FS70 W enables users to produce a wider range of applications, such as true-color graphics on clear window-graphic films or black or colored substrates.
Along with other features, the option to run two sets of CMYK inks makes it possible for print businesses to routinely operate the HP Latex FS70 W unattended overnight.
The HP Latex FS70 W also includes these features:
- optimized print modes for different media types, such as self-adhesive vinyl, wallpaper, canvas, and banners
- a robust, re-engineered automated printhead cleaning system for unattended print runs
- an ink collector for printing on porous textiles
- seamless connection to the HP PrintOS Production Hub for tasks ranging from order intake to remote printer monitoring.
Optional features and accessories include:
- A dual-roll kit for simultaneously printing two rolls of 63-in.-wide materials
- A jumbo dual-roll holder that can hold two 400 lb. Rolls of materials up to 60-in. wide
- An overcoat cartridge to improve the scratch and scuff resistance of certain types of graphics without the extra laminating step
Ever since HP introduced Latex inks in 2008 as an environmentally friendly alternative to the solvent inks, the company has focused on helping print-service providers become more sustainable in their operations. That support for sustainability has paid off as global buyers of premium brand-marketing graphics hire print-service providers who can prove their commitment to being environmentally responsible in their operations.
Users of the HP Latex printers can accelerate and document their sustainability journey with HP’s Sustainability Amplifier program and recycle their supplies and hardware through the HP Planet Partners program.
About the HP Latex Productivity Kit
In 2024, HP introduced their 3.2-meter wide Latex FS50 and S60 printers with the promise that print-services providers would be able to upgrade the capabilities of the printers to keep pace with advances in technologies and every-changing markets for printed products.
At PRINTING United Expo 2025, HP delivered on that promise by introducing the HP Latex Productivity Kit. The kit gives owners of HP Latex FS50 and FS60 printer a direct path to HP Latex FS70-level performance without replacing their existing printers. This means they can provide faster turnaround times, lower operating costs, and take on higher-margin, more demanding jobs.
About the HP Print OS Production Hub
It’s great to have a printer built in which mechanical subsystems can be upgraded with new technologies. But it’s also important to have great automation system around the printer.
Announced in March 2025, the HP PrintOS Production Hub is a suite of software that can centralize order intake and production management and enables real-time collaboration. It can also remotely monitor printer fleets to provide real-time updates on printer status and jobs in progress.
Using input and ideas from customers, HP adds new functions to HP Print OS every few weeks.
“Our software solutions are making the HP Latex printing process very efficient,” Martinez noted, “With continuous innovation through the HP PrintOS Production Hub, we’re not just delivering technology at a single point in time, we are ensuring our customers benefit from new functionality and opportunities every day.”
The latest updates to HP PrintOS Production Hub for large-format workflows features integration of design and e-commerce orders. This enables a centralized order intake with an order dashboard that includes incoming e-commerce orders. The latest updates also offer consolidated analytics and monitoring for easier access to production data, as well as enhanced collaboration tools such as roles, permissions, comments, tags, and activity feeds.
The Print OS Production Hub can be integrated with both HP and non-HP devices, making it easier for print-service providers to manage their workflows. Print OS Production Hub is available through a tiered subscription model so print-service providers don’t have to pay for functionality that they may not need.
With HP PrintOS Configuration Center and the embedded spectrophotometer, print-service providers can deliver consistent color across a global fleet. The HP Print OS Configuration Center provides an advanced cloud-based platform can ensure that color profiles and settings are uniformly applied across all devices, no matter their location.
The embedded spectrophotometer in the HP FS70 enhances this consistency by providing precise, automated color calibration. This reduces variability and ensure that every print meets the highest standards or color accuracy.
In the near future, HP plans to add some AI (artificial intelligence) concepts used in HP’s high-speed production inkjet and toner presses to HP Latex large-format graphics printing workflows.
For example, HP will make an AI-powered assistant available for HP Latex printer users. The AI-assistant uses data from months of previous print jobs to answer questions about costs, efficiencies, and operator performance.
The AI assistant will be able to quick answer questions such as: Can you tell me my average running costs for the past six months? How are we doing in terms of efficiency? Can you tell me how fast or slow each printer operator is in terms of completing their tasks?”
Print service providers can use the responses from the assistant to adjust their estimates or refine operator training.
For customers with different types of businesses and application requirements, HP offers four categories of HP Latex Printers: Industrial (126 in. wide), Production, Rigid, and Print-and-Cut.
